My experience with the paranormal was about 13 years ago, long before Paranormal research was as accepted as it is now. I grew up being told there is no such thing as Ghosts and I firmly believed that at the time. I was in my early twentys when my husband and i rented a house In Cleveland from a landlord i knew well. Within a month i felt the presence of like someone right in my face or sitting on the bed when i was sleeping. This evolved into heariing heavy breathing. I dismissed it and didnt mention it to my husband. Until the cabinets in the kitchen next to our bedroom would open and slam shut at night. It didnt wake him but i did thinking it was an intruder. Noone was in the house but us and I knew i didnt dream or imagine it. So the next time it occured , i shook him and he also heard it. I can remember us laying in the bed going what in the #&4 is going on? The experiences only intensified hearing someone walkig through the house closing doors when i was home alone. People visiting would see shadow figures around the kitchen area. Long story short we were actively looking for another house to rent and trying to rationalize what was going on so we didnt freak out.
Our New Landlord was Also a deputy sheriff and i reluctantly told him about the house and it being strange and creepy. Oh yeah he said your talking about the one so and so committed suicide in ! Turns out the man was about to go to prison and shot himself in the room we were sleeping in. Needless to say he was not a Nice man before he died and his visits in the afterlife were just as nasty. Had we never learned of the suicide it wouldnt have changed my belief that this was a haunted house. Having shared the experience with my husband made it impossible to dismiss as just my imagination or really big rats in the kitchen. I still ride by that house and people are still living there and i wonder if they have had the same experience or has that restless soul found peace finally. I recently bought a 100 year old historical home with lots of history and some strange occurances. But nothing i cant live with or that frightens me. I am no longer traumatized by my experience thanks to the dedication and research of teams like yours
