My family has been residing in a home in Byhalia for almost a year now and we have experienced some unusual things. We live in a small neighborhood that has been here for at least 30 years, compposed of about 25 to thirty homes, each with around 1 to 1.5 acres. The home we purchased was privately built 18 years ago in what was a previously open field. Our neighbors have told us of strange things happening to them over the years ranging from apparitions to physically and loudly moving things. The home next to ours has had 2 people on different occasions commit suicide among other deaths we have heard of in this small "community" that have happened over the past 30 years.
Here's what we have experienced in the last year.
In the process of doing some landscaping this past spring we attempted to transplant some bushes. In the process we unearthed what appear to be 3 small statues possibly ceramic of some kind. Each is hollow and missing various appendages. Creepy.
There have been several instances of doors either opening or closing for no reason at all hours of the day.
One afternoon my son was in his room downstairs and I was in the office upstairs. My wife was outside. I heard her calling my name as if something was wrong. I rush outside to find she did not call me. Right behind me my son comes outside saying he heard her calling him, which she was not.
My wife was cleaning the tub one afternoon when a dark shadow, human size by her description, passed over her and the wall of the tub.
My wife was in bed propped up on an elbow watching tv when a dark shadow crossed the room slowly. She took notice, sat upright and continued to watch it til it dissappeared.
My daughter has also exclaimed to see a shadow in the bathroom as well.
Some digital photography that I took recently also seemed to have orbs in some of the shots.
Whats everyone's take on these things?

Wow, that sounds really interesting. Did the encounters start right when you moved in, or just recently? Also, could you possibly post the pics so we could get a look at them?

The doors started about the time we moved in. The rest started about the time we found the little statue things.
I'll try to find those pics.
Thanks for the input.

time frame of occurences are always important. do you know the history of the area before the community was built? have you ever looked it up at the library? also, are the statues you found have a significant look to them beside missing pieces. the type of statues are more important than what's missing. in the house i lived in while in high school, i use to hear my mom call my name but in reality, she did not. I was hearing something else maybe. still not sure. I've seen a few shadows myself. have you ever tried talking to whatever entities are there. next time one of y'all see a shadow or something try saying hello.

Thanks for the input. wo1fman Your situation is one that sounds very familiar, but I am not so sure where I heard this before. However, if I remember correctly the statues in the other circumstance were ceremonial occult related statues. I am not entirely certain of what to tell you though, because at the same time my investigators are exactly right that without the information about the area and other factors, like I need to see those statues, we could probably help you further. Currently Byhalia, MS is well within our investigative range. If you so desire to have HMPR to conduct an investigation on your property, we will certainly schedule you in. Utilize the "Investigation Request" form at the main site. If you have a photobucket.com account (free or otherwise), if you could upload and post links of those pictures or insert them using the picture insert tool or direct upload, that would help us determine further what you might want to do. With what you have told me so far, I would most certainly suggest getting a group in there, but once I see some of what you already have I can make a better observation and then a better suggestion.

Attached is a link to the pics of the strange things we have here. The claw/tooth picts are just very odd but may have a rational explanation. The pics of the statues are what give me the creeps. I tried to get what appeared to be clay or dried mud of some kind out of one of them. They appear to be made of some kind of reddish substance. Looks like they may have all been connected, with arms folded over each other's shoulders. What research I have found is that the area we live in was part of the land allotted to former members of the Chickasaw nation in/around 1835 when the govt. was starting to grant plots of land in each township here in Marshall County. The exact plot this whole neighborhood is on was granted to a Chickasaw indian names E Tah Na Tubby. Apparently several of his family were granted the plots around this one. I am unable to find out anything else about this man or his family name. On another note - here's an update of what other occurances have been going on here. Still having sounds of doors opening and closing when they are securley locked. Sounds of objects throughout the house falling with us unable to locate what made the noise. Other doors opening and closing several times in plain sight of me myself. My wife has seen a "shadow figure" again in plain sight walk across our balcony from our bedroom a distance of 6 to 7 feet towards the stairs. Please check out our photos and let us know what you think. Sorry for taking so long to get back. s245.photobucket.com/albums/gg73/wo1fmann/wierd%20stuff/

I looked at those pics, very interesting. I would like to examine them up close and run checks on them through different sources. They may have religious usage and they may just be creepy statues lol.

I thought about the same thing Justin, running checks through different sources. Hey Wolf do you care if I snag a few of these pics so I can compare with similar figurines? I looked at them and they are really interesting.

It is very possible there might have been something ritualistic involved with those. I've heard that leaves certain echoes if ya will.

You know, if you are interested in heavier data collection, we could always talk about scheduling an investigation. If you decide to do so, just swing by the main site and use the Request Investigation page. Of course we will help you where we can on identifying the items collected.
The figurines appear to be Native American in nature. You may very well have stumbled upon a nice piece for a museum somewhere. As far as the "claw" and bone fragment, it would take further observation and possibly sending it to a lab for analysis.
Justin should be able to get you more specifics on the figurines, that is his area of expertise.

Yeah they looked Native American to me to. I am comparing them to other Native American figurines. They look kinda similar to the Hopi Kachina dolls/figures but I do not think they are Kachina. What you think Justin?
